fingertips

all of windows at your fingertips

Hi Taco,

I have been using fingertips for a while now and i am getting quite used to it. there are a lot fingertypes i have entered and i would hate to lose them if for some reason i have to reinstall or something.

is there an easy way to backup my settings. preferably automaticly.
if not is there a hard way :)

Hi Eroll,

If you open Windows Explorer and surf to \My Documents\Fingertips, you'll see the databases that Fingertips uses, including the file Fingertips.phrases.db which contains the fingertypes.

You can just backup the whole folder.

But you'll also see a folder within the \My Documents\Fingertips folder that is named 'Backups'. This folder contains a monthly backup of the databases. These backups are made automatically by Fingertips.

However, if you want to be sure and secure, please backup the databases to another (preferably off-line) location as well.
